tiptop has published the August 2026 Version 1.0 of ATDS. We want this enterprise technical white paper to remain open to professional review, so our plans also address collaboration, records of comments and version updates, with clear reasons and dates for changes.

Invite different disciplines to discuss the same product

Material identity, skin delivery, local tolerability and human performance involve several fields. We welcome review from specialists in skin science, formulation, extracellular vesicles, analytical methods, toxicology, cosmetics regulation, manufacturing quality and consumer research.

The white paper proposes a Scientific and Standards Committee with four types of working groups. The committee and groups are currently governance proposals.

Proposed working group Discussion focus
Methods Method suitability, validation and interlaboratory comparison
EVs and biomaterials Identity, characterization, provenance and quality
Safety and regulation Use settings, safety evaluation and market conditions
Clinical and consumer research Human evaluation, consumer studies and interpretation of results

Publish the revision process alongside each new version

Our version-management plan includes effective dates, change summaries, versions of referenced standards and transition arrangements. Method annexes may be updated more frequently as needed, while core principles should be reviewed at least annually.

For major changes in external standards or scientific consensus, the white paper recommends completing an impact assessment within 90 days. Major changes in product formulation, packaging, manufacturing site or critical processes should also trigger review of evidence and ERL assessment.

Version 1.1 remains a future roadmap target. The applicable text is the version actually published.

Retain a record of how comments are handled

We intend the collaborative process to record participants’ professional qualifications, interests, comments and how those comments were addressed. Interlaboratory comparisons, external reviews and post-market data feedback will also inform later versions as they progress.

Version 1.0 is a starting point for open discussion. We want each later revision to explain what changed, why and when it takes effect. The current full text and version information are on the ATDS 2026 public page.
