Regend is an important upstream raw-material supplier and strategic partner of tiptop, with ongoing collaboration in technology and business. We share this relationship to explain where the technologies we use originate and how research, supply and product development connect.
From research to commercial translation
The ZUO Lab. is Wei Zuo’s laboratory. It provides the scientific and technological foundations, together with upstream research and clinical pathways, for the related work. Wei Zuo is also the founder of Regend, which undertakes the corresponding commercial translation and supply collaboration.
Along this pathway, tiptop handles technology translation, quality management and brand incubation for its own product portfolio. Once materials enter our development system, further work on formulations, processes, packaging and use evaluations is still required.
We disclose both our partners’ names and their respective roles. This makes the connections between research origins, upstream supply and finished products concrete.
Two scientific translation advisors
Wei Zuo and Ting Zhang formally serve as tiptop’s scientific translation advisors, supporting technical discussions, compliance review and collaboration across the value chain. Their advisory work helps us consider research questions alongside development conditions and assess how a research finding can enter the next stage of translation.
Research and products face different questions. An upstream study may examine changes in a particular cell or tissue within a specific model. In developing topical care products, we also need to study how the final formulation performs under its specified conditions of use. That requires evaluation of the product itself.
What we take responsibility for after collaboration begins
For tiptop, a partnership provides a technology source and brings responsibility for the work that follows. We organize material and process development, use our ATDS enterprise framework to connect provenance records with development and evaluation, and disclose results for individual products separately.
As upstream materials become finished products, we continue to carry out the relevant development and quality work, reporting actual performance through each product’s own use evaluations.
